Hi, I’m Lauren. I have been dancing, floating, rolling, swinging and falling through space as long as I can remember. My passion and inquiry with movement led me to study dance at Ohio University, where I graduated with a BFA in 2014. While there, I honed my craft as a dance artist and also developed myself as a movement educator through studies in kinesiology, anatomy, pedagogy and somatics. The yoga practice has been a counterpart to dance my career for over 10 years and in 2014 I completed my first teacher training with Sonic Yoga in New York City. I have also studied therapeutics of yoga and sound healing with Prema Yoga Institute in New York City and Intuitive Thai Bodywork with Sarah Seely in Brooklyn. Woven in the fabric of all this education and self study were my dedicated students in Brooklyn. They have been just as profound as the incredible teachers I’ve had the chance to study with in the city.

Sharing yoga asana with such a vast range of humans continues to stir my curiosity in regards to how this practice can be made more accessible. How mind-body movement practices can be shared with everyone. The more people who have access to these tools, the more self-healing work can take place!
